In some sense, everything we do is a response. Even when we seem to be initiating something, we are still responding to the environment around us. In addition, every action we take is in some measure a response to everything that we have experienced before.
When we encounter the presence of God in a significant way, our lives cannot help but change because that incredible experience becomes part of the basis for all of our future responses. When we can get immersed in His love, then our responses in life become more Christ-like because of the experience of His love becomes such a powerful force in determining our responses.

Yes--- and following on, how does He respond to our responses? there's got to be such a wideness, depth, etc. there cf Eph 3 Kind of makes me think of this pure, deep pool He invites us to wade, jump or dive into-- as deep as we dare and then when we discover that the water is such a wonderful temperature, and the view underwater is so incredible, we want to just keep going deeper and staying under longer...
ReplyDeleteI think much of experiencing the presence of God is a result of learning how to respond to His presence when He shows Himself to us. At those times when the senseof His presence is light, I can choose to value it and give Him my attention or I can be distracted elsewhere. It is when I choose to value Him that I get more.
